Alarm Master VAT Rate Changes Click Here For BASE VAT Rate Changes With the impending changes to the standard rate of VAT please find below details of the changes to be made to the Alarm Master to implement the new rate of 20.0% . The illustrations below are taken from Version 303 but the processes are the same for earlier versions of Alarm Master although the screens may appear slightly different. Select the rate T1 and then the Edit button, change the VAT RATE from 17.50 to 20.0 and then select OK to save the change. Similarly select the rate T2 (if you have one) and change this from 15.0 to 17.50 - this latter rate will enable you to credit invoices raised at 17.50%

Invoice Templates If you are unsure about modifying invoice templates please call the office. Remember that if you print an incorrect invoice it will create a lot of work reversing the database We are aware certain customers may have hard coded the value 17.50 into their invoice templates we would suggest that in this case you open the template and locate the text 17.50 For .rtm style invoices:-
modify the text as illustrated below and replace it with a report variable VAT_RATE . This will eliminate having to modify the template should the rate change in the future
For .tx style invoices:-
modify the text as illustrated below and replace it with a report variable VAT_RATE . This will eliminate having to modify the template should the rate change in the future
Additional steps for Version 302/303 Users Only :- Supplier VAT Rates The latest download of 303 negates the need for the change of rate in the Supplier Table but it is included below for anyone who is unable to download the latest build before the VAT rate change. The Supplier Table holds a individual supplier VAT Code and VAT Rate. You will need to perform a simple Global Change on the supplier.adt table to change the 17.500 to be 20.000 as illustrated below. Please do not forget the trailing .000 after the decimal point.
Existing Purchase Orders Should you have already created a Purchase Order but not yet sent the order out you will need to edit each item on the purchase order such that the individual line VAT value is re calculated. We hope you find the above useful. Should you wish to ring the office for advice then please do so as soon as possible as we envisage the phones being quite busy on Tuesday. If you are in a queue and do not wish to wait then please feel free to email support@pcdata.co.uk . If you mark the subject as VAT CHANGES then we will action your email as a matter of urgency.
